Clare Bare for Care Bears

CLARE BARE

My BFF was, like, totally obsessed with Care Bears when we were kids. Like, obsessed.

But that has absolutely nothing to do with Clare Bare, maker of eco-friendly lingerie. Except that Care Bears and Clare Bare lingerie are both soft and adorable. Made from vintage tablecloths, fabrics, and organic cotton, "Clare's" underwear is simply too cute to cover up- you will have to come up with a reason for going out in your underwear, which in LA is already par for the course, so you can always just move here if people give you a hard time for wearing your gingham tablecloth knickers to the mall.

Louella’s Bloomers

LOUELLA BLOOM

Ah… organic lingerie. Thank god the tide has turned, and more eco-friendly underwear is finally showing up. And thank god it looks like this this stuff from indie designer Callie Anne! How cute is this? Seriously? I want to know exactly how cute. I’m guessing around 9.7 out of 10, but I could be off by .05 or so. They are organic and lady-part friendly, so grab a pair and sit and stand and move around in peace.

Green Knickers Satisfies You

GREEN KNICKERS

So before we put our girlie issues aside to spend Wednesdays helping out the guys, I want to do one last girlie post, and this underwear is soooo f-ing girlie, I had to write about it (although I'm sure the guys can appreciate it too.)

These Green Knickers' knickers are totally adorable- my only complaint is, where the f- are the bras? I mean, I’m liberated, but I’m not that free. IT IS SO HARD TO FIND ECO-FRIENDLY LINGERIE. You pretty much get the same three brands over and over again (mad props to Enamore, Peau-Ethique, and Ciel), and I’m sorry, but if it's cotton and doesn’t at least have a bow or some lace attached to it, or like a tiger print or maybe some feathers or whatever turns you on- it ain’t lingerie, it’s underwear, which is useful but not fun. And not guaranteed to be sexy, like these lil' items from Green Knickers.

UrbanFox Hunting

URBANFOX

A girl wants what she wants. Like, she might really really want some organic and/or sustainable lingerie so that even her derriere can feel good about itself, doing its part for the planet. And she might have a hard time finding it (insert frowny face here), so she might get off said derrier and make some sunstainable undies for herself, then make some more for the rest of us. Such is the story behind UrbanFox, producers of adorable lingerie sets made of bamboo and organic cotton. And they are totally biodegradable, so instead of washing them, you can toss them on the compost pile.

‘Cept don’t do that, because they are way to pretty to treat that way.

Perfectly Imperfectly Perfect

Perfectly Imperfect

Why this organic clothing company even mentions the idea of imperfection with their wonderful clothes, I don’t know. But they use organic cotton to make the best underwear, the cutest sweaters, and the loveliest dresses, so forget the imperfection part, or else embrace the idea that total comfort and great style are now being called “imperfections.” I have the lacy underwear, and I have the green sweater that I now realize is just like (but way nicer) my Catholic high school uniform sweater! And yet I love it! Ah, the power of organic vs. polyester...

En Amore with Enamore

Enamore

Enamore is a company out of England that makes eco-friendly lingerie out of sustainable fabrics such as hemp, organic cotton, and vintage fabrics. Their stuff is hand-made and as adorable as the children who will not be forced to make your underwear in a sweatshop somewhere in China. They have garter belts! Who even does that anymore? They do, and it's awesome.

They also make stuff to order, so go ahead and treat yourself:
