MILO IN MAINE
I wore my black organic Milo in Maine t-shirt today, with some black peg pants I got at the thrift store, and can I tell you- I felt like Audrey Hepburn in that Gap commercial (‘cept without the oppression and Jedi mind trick Gap has apparently pulled on the American public with their “red” campaign that doesn’t stop them from making their clothes in CHINA.)
Anyway, I looked cute and I owe it all to the shirt, because I wore the pants with another shirt once, and I didn’t feel like anything... And now they have the shirt in long sleeves! More to love!

Be Environgentle With It
ENVIRONGENTLE
I like these guys. They’re kinda weird. They have a t-shirt that just says “Mexican Food” on it, but it’s made from a hemp and organic cotton blend. “Tell ‘em what you like to eat by wearing it on your shirt.” They confuse me in their post post-modern simplicity, but I don't mind it.
Oh, and they have organic cotton plain white v-necks, which are totally hot.

Who Rocks The Partybots That Rocks The Partybots

PARTYBOTS
Mee
t Karl. Karl is... well, he’s kinda a nerd. A cool, hip, heavily tattooed nerd, but yeah, a nerd nonetheless. He draws pictures/comics all day and probably has 37-sided dice in his pockets, which he will need to help him navigate the magical realms of sustainable clothing, where he is indeed a wizard. An eco-wizard, who uses organic and bio-degradable materials to make his (impressive) line of comic-book graphic t-shirts.
Nerds are so cool, they aren’t even nerds anymore- they’re the cool kids.
Finally, my mom was right about something, and I can start wearing my glasses in public.

Positively Positive Energy

+E POSITIVE ENERGY
This is a simple t-shirt company making organic tees with succint but double-entendred messages related to social and envronmental issues. For example, the t-shirt that says "Used" is refering to the joys of recycling, not the ho-ishness of the person wearing it. 10% of their profits go to various charities, and the t-shirts themselves are all about doling out peace and goodwill. If a t-shirt could be kind, these shirts would be the the good kids, and you mom would totally let you hang out with them.

Bah Hum(mer)bug!
Green Label Organic
Hummers are a bummer, but don’t let that stall your outlook… drive to enlighten by strutting down your neighborhood sidewalks in a Green Label tee that freely displays quirky and fun eco massages on them. Accelerating your good deed is the fact that every tee is 100% certified organic cotton, made sweatshop free in USA, dyed using low-impact reactive dyes, and screen printed with inks free of phthalates and PVC. Roll it all together and I’d say your treading pretty lightly.

So Zooey
ZOOEY ORGANIC
Zooey has been making soft and lovely cotton clothes for a while, and now they finally offer organic selections, with eco-positive messages on them to boot! Bamboo and cotton, messages of love, references to windmills… if only all their stuff was organic, that'd be the coolest.
By the way, this girl in the picture is my neighbor, and she really does care about the environment, which I think makes her even prettier... just something to think about. Wearing organic t-shirts=stunning good looks. That's science.

Milo In Maine- brain-eating skeleton-free shirts!
MILO IN MAINE
These people make my favoritest t-shirt ever. It’s the one I always think about wearing, but keep saving for that special t-shirt occasion, which of course never comes up, because that’s ridiculous- t-shirts are made to be worn, and especially this one. It fits beautifully, and the stitched pattern on it is just interesting enough to make me feel special wearing it, without being as in-your-face as my old death metal rock t-shirts, which are pretty much the only other t-shirts I have, and usually contain images of people’s brains being eaten by skeleton-men who are clearly dead but still have hair for some reason. And appetites.
But I digress… Milo In Maine makes nice, comfortable organic shirts, and might be the only good thing to come out of Maine, ever, except maybe Ben and Jerry’s which I think is actually from Vermont or something.

Do It- D.T'signs Tees

D. T'signs
Okay, so there are a lot of organic shirt companies out popping up these days, which is awesome, but D.T'signs takes it one step further by using soy based inks to silkscreen their designs onto their t-shirts. The message of the designs is one of peace, (remember peace?) love, and rock 'n roll. And wind power. And flower power. So, more power to 'em.

On a Mission (Playground)

Mission Playground
From San Diego, Mission Playground is a clothing company that makes polo shirts, board shorts, sweat pants, jeans, belts and even shoes, all from organic and recycled materials. They have a huge selection of products, mostly t-shirts and outdoor sporting clothes, and apparently they have recently started making eco-friendlier surfboards, too.
They even started an education program to raise awareness of unfair labor practices and environmental issues, called S.E.E.D. (Sustainable Environment & Educational Development). Why? Because they care, as should you.
