The Week In Green
So, despite the fact that I was busy getting older, I did still manage to post a lil’ sometin’ every day. To recap,
Monday I discussed multi-use dresses from Two Owls and how efficient they are, and mentioned once again how now is a good time to buy things like winter coats and sweaters cheap in preparation for next year or the coming apocalypse, whichever comes first. I showed you some cool trinkets from Secco, who take your old junk and make it cool again, so then you want it back, but you can’t have it, because you already made your decision about how much you didn’t like that broken ctrl key when you threw it away in the first place- one perso
n’s trash can become that same person’s treasure, when filtered through the right hands.
Then I schooled y’all on bringing your own shopping bags with you, and how to help you to remember it when you leave, by sewing the bags into your sleeves or velcroing them to the back of your head.
On Wednesday I encouraged men to take care of their softer sides by wearing Sameunderneath cashmere and supporting Breast Friends (I’m sorry, that name is still funn
y to me, but the cause is serious, and really important.) I also talked like a pirate about Black Spot anti-commercialism/materialism shoes.
Thursday was for fanciness- I discussed Jerome Dreyfuss vegetable-tanned leather handbags and made fun of the French a little, but in a nice way. And I broke up with Tiffany and started seeing Fifi Bijoux, because Fifi makes beautiful high-end jewelry out of recycled and fair trade materials.
And Friday I discovered Beyond Skin’s super sexy vegan shoes, which really are just about the cutest things you could put on your feet.

Wait a Secco, Is That My Ctrl Key?
SECCO
Secco makes fab rings and bracelets out of what to the common eye would appear to be just lame junk. But no- the folks at Secco find the inner cuff bracelet in that old Black Oak Arkansas LP you should be embarrassed to have, the hidden flower in that broken zipper., and the latent cufflink in those discarded QWERTY keys. I love it when people combine craftiness with excellent taste and make designer items out renewable resources like piles of, well, junk, which sadly enough is pretty much an unlimited, infinitely renewable resource at this point.
