NATURE VS. FUTURE
I’ve been tracking this indie label since before they were really working with organic materials, because the designs are so catchy. And now that they’re working with sustainable materials such as organic cotton, organic wool, hemp, soy, bamboo, seacell® (seaweed), lyocell (wood pulp), Ingeo™ (created from corn), and recycled fabrics such as Polartec® (made from soda pop bottles or industry waste), I can wear their clothes in peace. Somehow the asymmetric designs make me feel just right in this crazy mixed up world. And if I had a job, I would totally wear their stuff to work and be the coolest business lady at the corporate brunch. If I had a job.

The Katz Meow
EMILY KATZ
Ah, Emily Katz. I want to be her, so I can be the one who made all these beautiful clothes come to life. This girl/clothing label out of Portland makes dresses, jackets, and tops out of sustainable fabrics, like soy jersey, hemp, recycled poly denim and organic fleece. Her clothes are amazing. And she plays music, which is pretty sweet.

All Over Under the Canopy

UNDER THE CANOPY
One of the first organic clothing companies, the folks at Under the Canopy have had plenty of time (12 years!) to perfect their style, which is prolly why they have so many nice clothes to offer, in organic cotton, denim, and soy fabrics.
They also make organic sheets, so when you're done dressing yourself, you can dress your poor neglected bed as well!
